Captain Austin is AMAZING! We were scheduled for a Gulf trip, but the weather didn't cooperate (rough seas). Captain Austin instead asked if we wanted to go as deep as possible or reschedule, we opted to go as deep as we could. We trolled a bit and did some very deep bottom fishing (almost 40 miles out) then as it got really rough, came close to shore to troll for Spanish Mackerel. Caught TONS of fish of varying kind. The 27.5 lb King was the best, and caught on a grouper rig (circle hook and mono line)! The 26' Mako is flawless, bean bag chairs are amazingly comfy on a rough day, and Capt Austin knows exactly where to go to bring the meat home. Highly recommend Salty Hooker! Not flakey at all, kept in contact before the trip and made the absolute best of bad weather. 4 friends went and have booked another Gulf trip for next year with them! We wouldn't have booked again unless that trip was truly epic, and it was! If you want to go and catch fish to eat, Salty Hooker is hands down the best charter out of Murrells Inlet. Capt. Austin also gives co-Capt. Sarah (sp?) huge props and says she is one of the areas best salt water captains as well. Together they are a team that can't be beat. While no one can "guarantee" you catch fish, the odds are definitely in your favor if you chose Salty Hooker as your charter!Posted on Aiden PeppardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A group of 3 of us went out for the 3/4 day package and walked away feeling like it was extremely successful and fun. We caught way more fish than we could keep. We caught at least 12 different species of fish. Some great fighters! 1000% recommend and looking forward to booking our next trip.Posted on Brad PooleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Offshore fishing out of Myrtle Beach offers a wide variety of species depending on the season, water temperature, and how far offshore the trip goes. Anglers commonly catch pelagic species such as mahi mahi, wahoo, blackfin tuna, sailfish, and marlin when fishing farther offshore in the Gulf Stream. Closer to the reefs, wrecks, and ledges, bottom fishing produces species like grouper, snapper, black sea bass, triggerfish, amberjack, and cobia. Additional species you may encounter include king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, barracuda, hogfish, spadefish, tripletail, jack crevalle, and a variety of sharks. Each trip is different, but our waters are known for producing both great-eating fish and hard-fighting game fish year-round, giving anglers of all experience levels an exciting and memorable day on the water.
Yes! Any legal fish you catch is yours to keep. We’ll clean and bag it for you at the dock.
